Godesy Course code: GEOD | 6 ECTS credits

Basic information
Level of Studies: Undergraduate applied studies
Year of Study: 1
Semester: 1
Requirements:
Goal: The objective of the course is to familiarize students with basic procedures of obtaining and using geodetic information relevant to the construction industry, which enable students to successfully use basic types of geospatial data and learn about the less complex methods of positioning points in space, as well as solving simpler surveying tasks in civil engineering.
Outcome: Through mastering the necessary knowledge and acquiring basic concepts in the field of geodesy (according to the Law on Planning and Construction) students enhance their capabilities and skills to work on all common jobs and become real experts ready to accept all the professional challenges in their future practice.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Scientific and practical objectives of geodesy, Division of geodesy, Role of geodesy in planning and construction, Geodetic assignments in construction, Geodetic data in construction works.
  2. Shape and dimensions of the Earth, Coordinates and coordinate systems, Calculation of a direction angles, Map projections.
  3. Sources of geodetic data, Geodetic service organization in Serbia, Geodetic networks - state and engineers’.
  4. Angle measuring, Length determination, Height difference determination, Accuracy of geodetic measurements.
