Geodetic Surveying 1 Course code: GPR | 10 ECTS credits

Basic information
Level of Studies: Undergraduate applied studies
Year of Study: 1
Semester: 2
Requirements:
Goal: Detailed introduction to practical issues related to the polygon, linear and leveling network. Mastering the skill of surveyingdetails in horizontal and vertical angle. Training students to survey the details independently, in particular with polar method using a total station, calculatingcoordinates and spot levelsof detail points and basic knowledge on orthogonal detail surveying, and detail leveling. Study of geodetic measurements, and processing of measured results particularly in the area of polygon and leveling networks, and partly line networks, which is the basis for surveying details.
Outcome: Mastering the planned material from this course is necessary in order to prepare students for successful work in geodetic detail surveying which is the most common geodetic duty.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. The objective of calculation exercises is to teach students the processing of measurement data obtained by measurements in a geodetic basis, as well as in direct detail surveying and determining coordinates and spot levelsof surveying basis and detail points.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. The objective of practical training is that students directly in the field implement practical surveying works from: network reconnaissance, measuring angles in polygonal network, measuring lengths of a polygonal network using EDM, measurements in traverse network, total station and GPS, technical leveling, polar detail surveying, orthogonal surveying of details, detail leveling. Practical training is performed on a field geodetic polygon with the processing of measurement results. The section has up to 6 students.
