Requirements:
Goal: Acquiring the basic knowledge in the field of finance and learning the basic methodology and terminology in this field.
Outcome: Students should be able to apply and analyse basic financial terms and categories. The course offers exceptional opportunities for creative independent work in both theoretical and practical areas. After passing the exam, students will know the basics of relevant financial terms and categories in the field of monetary economics, banking, stock exchange, business, public, international finance, etc. Students will be able to understand and explain the terminology and demonstrate their knowledge on specific examples and situations with legal entities and entrepreneurs, at the level of the economy, in the environment, etc., as well as knowledge and skills necessary for successful financial management.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Monetary finance: Money, money supply and money balance; Inflation, deflation, devaluation, revaluation, depreciation, appreciation;
  2. Banking Finance: NBS; Business banking; Investment banking; Payments;
  3. Business finance: Rules, forms and sources of financing; Price of capital; Liquidity indicators;
  4. Activity indicators; Financial structure indicators; Profitability indicators; Market value indicators; Risk and leverage; Asset value flows; Net working capital management; Cash management; Customer management; Assessment of property value (methods, reports);
  5. Financial analysis of business performance; and expenses. Stock Exchange Operations: Financial Markets and Instruments; Stockbrokers - brokers, dealers; Stock exchange and over-the-counter operations;
  6. Public Finance: Public Revenue; Public expenditure; Budget system and budget policy; Budget principles; Budget execution; Tax system and tax policy; Taxes, contributions, fees, parafiscals; Public loans in theory and practice;
