Requirements: Knowledge of the construction of menswear and womenswear.
Goal: Introducing the students to the techniques and specific features of the construction and technology process used in sportswear manufacturing. Introducing the students to the modeling and completing techniques for designing accessories and garment details.
Outcome: Based on the obtained knowledge of garment modeling theory, the students are able to master the basic techniques of modeling details on garments, along with tehcniques for modeling basic sportswear garments. The students are trained to model garments and offer suggestions for the appropriate technology processes.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Construction measuremenets fow sportswear, standards.
  2. The influence of the characteristics of the textile materials on the construction and manufacturing of sportswear.
  3. Construction, modeling and production of a sports skirt.
  4. Construction, modeling and production of sports pants.
  5. Construction and modeling of sweatpants.
  6. Modeling and manufacturing sweatpants.
  7. Construction and modeling of a sports vest.
  8. Modeling and manufacturing sports vests.
  9. Construction and modeling of a jacket.
  10. Completing and manufacturing jackets.
  11. Construction and modeling of a T-shirt.
  12. Modeling and manufacturing of T-shirts.
  13. Construction, modeling and manufacturing of bathing suits.
  14. Construction of ski suits.
  15. Completing and manufacturing ski suits.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Practical realization of garments following theoretical instruction, with an additional focus on the use of lining in sportswear.
