Requirements:
Knowledge of textile fibers, structure and properties of textile materials.
Goal:
Introducing the students to contemporary technical textiles, new high-performance materials, and the application of technical textile in various areas of life.
Outcome:
Upon passing the exam, the students will be able to: classify technical textile and choose the most important technical textile products according to the field of intended use, including the choice of raw materials and production technologies; differentiate between individual commercial technical textile products and assess which of those would be best suited for any given situation.

Theoretical instruction:
- Modern technical textiles: development and classification, raw materials, applications.
- Modern technical textiles: development and classification, raw materials, applications.
- Agrotextiles.
- Geotextiles.
- Construction textiles. Industrial textiles.
- Textiles used in healthcare.
- Protective textiles. Apparel textiles. Transport textiles. Textiles used in interior design. Textiles used in packaging.
- Technical textiles used in sports and recreation.
- Technical textiles for environmental protection.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Introduction to the commercial products in the field of technical textile – agrotextile, geotextile, construction textiles, industrial textiles. Laws and regulations concerning protective textiles. Introduction to the commercial products in the field of technical textile – healthcare textiles, protective textiles, etc.
