Requirements:
Goal: Introducing and mastering the approach to designing buildings of complex structure with public content as an urban whole with a special relationship to the inherited construction in the area. The objective course is to enable students to independently analyse natural and created Requirements and make the right choice and decision when setting up a project solution for different types of buildings.
Outcome: The course enables students to build an approach to design, principles of setting a project task, functional, constructive and design solution of the object during the preparation of the semester paper. A special part of the task is the approach to the way of presentation and defines of the project. This part of the course gives students a simulation of events in practice where it is necessary to defend their work both in front of the professional public and in front of investors.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introductory lecture
  2. Definitions, terms and categories in housing
  3. Spatial levels of family housing: settlement, house and apartment
  4. Apartment - principles of organization, elements of a typical unit
  5. Apartment - principles of organization, elements of a typical unit Classification and typology of houses, analysis of examples
  6. Spatial-sociological structure, grouping process, urban structure, architectural structure
  7. Elements of urban space: private and public space, pedestrian and car traffic
  8. Facilities for upbringing, education, child protection and protection of the elderly
  9. Tourist facilities
  10. Administrative facilities
  11. Healthcare facilities
  12. Facilities of trade services - problems of city centres
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
