Goal: Creating and presenting a project by which the student proves to have reached a systematic approach to work and a desired level of creativity within the chosen subject. The paper should ideally be related to industrial textile and apparel design. The final paper encompasses the knowledge and skills obtained throughout basic vocational studies through the realization of practical work, designing textile surfaces and apparel forms, while taking into account the relevant market factors and the environment which influences the design process. The goal of the paper is for the students to use a creative approach to their chosen subject, designing a variety of textile products – fabrics, knitted textile, nonwovens, printed, furnishing and unique textile, as well as garments, for the textile/apparel industry, while developing a relationship with art, design and upholding traditional aesthetic values in textile and clothing.
Outcome: Successful creation and presentation of the final paper at basic vocational studies enables the candidate to successfully keep track of and adopt innovations related to their chosen field, apply the obtained knowledge and skills in all the stages of the design process; successfully cooperate with the rest of the design team and with other organizational units which influence the realization of a textile product; use adequate design software; promote aesthetic and functional values of the form and structure of a textile product, indirectly influencing development of design in genera; develop an innovative approach to textile and apparel design.
