Requirements:
Goal: Course objective is to introduce engineers of civil engineering and geodesy with modern information technologies and their application in the construction business.
Outcome: Knowledge of modern information technologies and their application in construction business.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Areas of application of information technologies in a construction company. Applications of basic application programs for word processing and spreadsheets. Computer drawing programs. Computer aided design.
  2. Databases and database management programs. Information systems. Expert systems.
  3. Document management.
  4. Application of information technologies in project management.
  5. Computer networking and computer communication. Internet search. E-business. E-commerce. E-marketing.
  6. Application of computers in lifelong learning.
  7. Transition to e-business. Making and presenting presentations. Internet presentation of a construction company
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
