Geodetic Tasks in Applied Geodesy Course code: GZPG | 12 ECTS credits
Basic information
Level of Studies:
Undergraduate applied studies
Year of Study:
3
Semester:
6
Requirements:
Passed exams from Engineering survey.
Goal:
Training prospective engineers of applied geodesy to work independently in order to provide geodetic services to other professions (construction industry, architecture, engineering, shipbuilding, mining, energetics, forestry, agriculture, etc.).
Outcome:
Through independent practical work under the guidance of tutors, students gain the necessary experience in solving specific engineering-technical tasks in the field of applied geodesy. Practical work is based on the most modern techniques of geodetic measurements and data processing.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Students’ familiarization with geodetic works in engineering practice,
- Overview of geodetic works related to the construction of infrastructure facilities (roads, railways, streets, municipal infrastructure, etc.),
- Overview of geodetic works related to urban and spatial planning,
- Geodetic monitoring of structure construction and other facilities (design, construction, carried out condition and registration)
- Specific geodetic works in the surface exploitation of mineral resources,
- Specific geodetic works in industry (steelwork, cement plant, power plant, etc.)
- Legislation.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Exercises, Other forms of instruction, Study research project Completion of a seminar paper from the selected engineering-technical field is carried out in computer labs, and a practical part is conducted on the field in geodetic and other enterprises.
