Requirements:
Goal: Planned and systematic adoption of the anticipated topics. Active participation of students in workshops on particular themes. Preparation and public presentation of particular assignments, discussions, polemics, and mastering the skills of result presentation. Familiarization with legal regulations and basics of management in the field of geodesy is imposed as a necessity in the educational profile of geodetic engineers. Course content is quite comprehensive, there are elements of law, economics, management etc. and it is more aimed at the formation of prospective engineers prepared for market conditions.
Outcome: Prospective geodetic engineers must know legal regulations and basics of management in the field of geodesy and even beyond. In addition to theoretical knowledge the lectures also consider various demonstration examples, which usually occur in practice. The objective of the course is to prepare prospective geodetic engineers to know how to properly place their fundamental knowledge of geodesy on the market.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Legislation (Classification and authority arrangement in the Republic of Serbia, principles of state administration bodies).
  2. Hierarchy of domestic general legal acts.
  3. Defining management. Management development (early and scientific management, modern theories and approaches).
  4. Process and fields in management. Management development (function and role of managers, managerial levels of operation, managers’ capabilities).
  5. Management in companies (enterprises)
  6. Forms and ownership structure of a company.
  7. Connection among enterprises.
  8. Organs of a company (assembly, administrative board, director, supervisory board, division of competence between bodies of an enterprise).
  9. Functions of a company.
  10. Organizational structure of an enterprise (definition, identification, parameters, factors, interdependence of strategy and structure, models). Companies abroad (representative office, business unit, foreign companies).
  11. Performance indicators of enterprises (accounting indicators, auditing of accounting data - internal and external auditing, ratio analysis of performance.
  12. Balance sheet and income statement of a company
  13. Business plan for a company – content, purpose, financial parameters of the plan.
  14. Management in State Administration (new public management – policy and expert management).
  15. Models of state administration organization (geodetic authorities, institutions, agencies and levels of their legal scope).
  16. Geodetic works – types of geodetic works. Technology of geodetic work execution (legislation, geodetic projects, modern technologies in geodesy).
  17. Organizational forms of geodetic work execution (state geodetic entity, geodetic companies and firms for geodetic work execution) - - “Case studies (typical examples)”
  18. Investment projects in geodesy. Participants in an investment project completion.
  19. Phases in a project implementation from the standpoint of investors. Phases in a project implementation from the perspective of a contractor.
