Requirements: Fulfillment of pre-exam requirements from the course Urbanism 1.
Goal: This course is intended to educate prosperous engineers to deal with space, its planning and development, as well as to develop interest and creative approach to urban planning and settlement construction.
Outcome: The course provides an understanding of the process of spatial planning, settlement development, introducing and learning basic principles in space designing: urban functions, urban elements, influencing factors and their role inspace promotion and protection.

Theoretical instruction:
  1. Systemic basis for settlement planning and development
  2. Place and role of systems and information and communication system
  3. Methodological procedure in processing the existing state
  4. Methodological procedure in dealing withdevelopment projection
  5. Methods of analysis and synthesis of the concept of a plan as a whole – the conception of a synthetic image
  6. Methodological approach to plan selection
  7. Methodological approach to the processing of final plan documents
  8. Application of the model in practice – the role of a model in planning process
  9. Growth, entropy and organization – models for designing systems
  10. Allocation models
  11. Optimization models
  12. Evaluation.
