Requirements:
Goal: This course is intended to educate prospective engineers to learn how to deal with space, its planning and development, as well as to develop interest and creative approach to urban planning and settlement construction.
Outcome: The course provides understanding of the process of spatial planning, settlement development, introducing and learning basic principles in space formation: urban functions, urban elements, influencing factors and their role. Also, the objective of the course is to get familiar with municipal systems, infra- and superstructure, urbo-economy and environmental protection. Introducing into practical work on the tasks related to spatial planning and development, settlement, location, management and the appropriate decision-making is enabled through the review of regulations, the content of spatial and urban plans, the practices in plan implementation, the preparation of investment programs for land development and the construction of facilities.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Characteristics of urban planning, definition, urban-planning through the centuries
  2. Classification of urban-planning activities
  3. Principles in space design and plan preparation
  4. Municipal systems
  5. Reconstruction and sanitation of a settlement
  6. Urbo-economy
  7. Regulations in the world and in our country
  8. Presentation of urban plan content (Program, analysis and diagnosis of the current situation and various studies. Influential factors and their role, Urban elements, Economic analysis)
  9. Presentation of the procedure for plan adoption and implementation
  10. Implementation of the plan (the program of land development)
  11. Preparation of investment programs for preparing and equipping a construction site
  12. Execution of works on preparing and equipping a construction site
  13. Process and procedure for the provision of a prepared and equipped land lease for the construction of planned facilities
  14. Urban planning in Belgrade, history and present condition.
