Requirements:
Goal: During the course prospective civil engineers will fully master the issues of economic and financial aspects of construction in accordance with current regulations.
Outcome: The course provides understanding of the financial and economic process in structure construction, communication, methods, materials, equipment, planning, scheduling, cost analysis, cost control; understanding of thematic units of construction economy such as: economy, business operations, law, ethics, management and decision making.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction. Financial processes and management of investment projects. Analyses of rates for a structure. Business relations investor - contractor during the implementation of investment project. Business operations in the construction industry.
  2. Value of a building structure. Building costs of a construction facility. Calculating the cost of structure construction. Market value of construction structure.
  3. Construction bidding. Tender documents. Selection of the contractor. Contract on the construction and equipping of facilities.
  4. Chargingfor the executed works. Collectionafter the work completion. Collection of interest-free advance. Revaluation of rate – sliding scale. Final account.
  5. Feasibility study. Pre-feasibility study. Financial indicator of investing.
  6. Business plan.
  7. Financial costs control and business operations in the construction industry. Cash flow. Financial plan. Control of business operations and money spenditure at the site.
