Requirements:
Goal: The objective of the course is acquiring basic knowledge in this field and students are trained for the successful applicationof computers in their further education and future professional activities.
Outcome: The course allows students to understand the principles of modern data processing on computers, data and information storage, the principles of modern programming languages used to develop applications and information systems. The course also enables students to process numerical assignments in geodesyindependently, and to be able to present these data in various formats and media.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Brief history of computer science
  2. Operating systems DOS and WINDOWS. Work with databases. Work with catalogs. Activation of ready-made programs.
  3. Use of ready-made programs: browsers, archiving programs, Internet ...
  4. Use of modern word processing programs. Training students by using word processing programs whose implementation is manifold (WORD)
  5. Use of modern programs for mathematical calculations in the form of a table. Training students through application of programs for tabular computations which are used in construction practice (EXCEL).
  6. Use of computer peripheral devices: printers, plotters, digitizers, scanners, digital cameras.
