Requirements:
Goal: Acquiring appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of international shipping, forwarding, logistics, and insurance in transportation. Understanding and application of the necessary procedures, and regulations in freight forwarding services, customs activities, freight transport insurance, and cargo transport insurance.
Outcome: Students will be able to contract and organize freight forwarding, and logistics for international shipments in import, export, and transit, to organize groupage transport, to properly use the necessary transport documentation, to know transport procedures in EU countries and beyond, to know the global payment regulations and foreign trade agreements, to know international organizations for transport insurance.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Logistics service regulations for freight forwarding businesses.
  2. General terms and conditions for international freight forwarding and shipping.
  3. Contracting and organization of freight forwarding.
  4. The role of freight forwarders in the rationalization of the transportation services and transportation costs.
  5. The principle of formation of the cost of logistics services
  6. Flow of documents in international trade.
  7. Organization of international import, export, and transit trade flows.
  8. Organization of groupage transport.
  9. Transport procedures in the European Union.
  10. Customs brokerage.
  11. Freight transport insurance, and cargo transport insurance.
  12. International payment operations.
  13. Application of new technologies in freight forwarding business.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Practical instruction is followed by a lecture program. 
Practical classes include case studies and interactive workshops.
1. Preparation of practical examples of the International Freight Forwarding Agreement.
2. Practical examples of the preparation of freight forwarding service offers.
3. Formation of prices of logistics services.
4. Practical example of preparation and completion of customs documents.
5. Practical examples in the application of transport insurance policies.
