Requirements:
Goal: The objective of the course is to enable students to master basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the area of technical diagnostics of railway power supply facilities.
Outcome: After successful completion of the course students will be trained to do analysis of basic electrical systems in railway power supply facilities and identify different problems in this area using correct methodological approach and modern diagnostic devices.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to railway power supply facilities - application, types, station arrangement.
  2. Basic characteristics of modern railway power systems and current state
  3. Introduction to the voltage levels of the power supply system of Serbien railways, with withstand voltage and test voltages of the equipment in the reilway power system
  4. Instruments for testing of high voltage equipment
  5. Measurement instruments for testing of high voltage equipment
  6. High-voltage measurement techniques and methods
  7. Profilactic testing of high voltage equipments during revision
  8. Classification of testing of high voltage equipment
  9. Acceptance tests of high voltage equipment
  10. Insulation testing of high voltage equipment
  11. Testing of grounding systems
  12. The EMC test of high voltage equipment
  13. Modern methods for detection and location of cable faults
  14. Thermographic testing of electrical equipment
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Students independently or with the help of teachers solve the tasks set in the area of technical diagnostics, using sophisticated communication and measuring instruments on railway power supply facilities.
