Requirements:
Goal: Acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of development and organization of occupational safety management systems and introduction to modern methods of measuring, studying and improving the work process. Acquiring knowledge and skills for the selection of optimal solutions and application of protection and safety measures aimed at eliminating hazards or reducing occupational risk, prevention of accidents and injuries at work in traffic and transport, with means of internal transport, as well as at transhipment works.
Outcome: Ability to manage occupational safety in the business system. Practical training for managing safety and health at work in traffic and transport, with means of internal transport. Possession of knowledge that enables the development and application of optimal solutions in occupational risk management processes.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to labor science, defining basic concepts: work process, subject of work, work systems, participants in the work process
  2. Process structure and working time
  3. Ergonomic pads for workplace design
  4. Physiological, psycho-sociological conditions at work, conditions of the working environment - noise, vibrations, lighting, microclimate
  5. Anthropometric working conditions
  6. Occupational safety management system
  7. Hazard analysis methodologies
  8. Basic concepts of risk and risk management
  9. Occupational safety prevention policy and hazard control and occupational safety management system
  10. Protection measures and interventions to limit the consequences of accidents
  11. Institution of supervision and evaluation of occupational safety management system
  12. Occupational safety management systems according to international standards
  13. Occupational safety management system at the national level
  14. Safety management system in accordance with OHSAS 18001: 2007
  15. Risk management in accordance with ISO 31000: 2009.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Legislation related to safety and health at work - safety at work. 
2. Organization of occupational safety service. 
3. Monitoring and research of injuries at work, occupational diseases, work-related diseases and incidents. 
4. Manner of keeping records of injuries and occupational diseases. 
5. Statistical processing of collected data - calculation of indicators of frequency, severity and risk of injuries and occupational diseases. 
6. Principles of risk assessment. 
7. Hazard identification. 
8. Exposure assessment. 
9. Risk characterization. Risk management.
