Requirements:
Goal: Acquisition of basic knowledge in the field of technical regulations and standards. Complete understanding of each other correlation between international and national technical regulations. Complete training for making project documentation from the aspect of compliance with the essential requirements of the relevant technical regulations and standards.
Outcome: After completion of the course the students should gain knowledge about: • content, significance, and type of technical regulations and standards, • technical legislation and EU directives, • conformity assessment procedure, authorized bodies, • CE (SE) marking, market surveillance, • machine safety, • risk assessment and national legislation on safety and health at work.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. The role, significance, and types of technical regulations in mechanical engineering
  2. The place and role of technical regulations in the process of construction
  3. Standardization
  4. Law on Standardization
  5. Law on Technical Regulations
  6. Technical legislation E U
  7. Authorized bodies
  8. SE marking
  9. Market surveillance
  10. Machine safety
  11. Strategy for choice of security measures
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Examples of application and use of different types of technical regulations and standards in construction. 2. Examples formation and completion of technical documentation for obtaining the SE mark for the product. 3. Example and grades product compliance. 4. Examples of conceptualization of technical solutions for machine safety protection. 5. Example making instructions for the use of machines, devices or installations. 6. Examples of risk assessment for machines and machinery systems. 7. Examples of completing risk assessment documentation. 8. The course may include visits to the Accredited Laboratory for Testing of Machine Elements and Systems – LIMES (the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals of the Republic Serbia and Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia.
