Requirements:
Goal: Introducing students to the legal institutions of law, the fundamentals of traffic and transportation law, Case law, and law from other sources (e.g., contracts of carriage, forwarding, and insurance in certain modes of transport).
Outcome: Students will be able to recognize and understand the basics of institutions of law, traffic, and transportation law, domestic and international sources of law and regulations, and independently draft contracts in the field of traffic and transportation.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. The basics of traffic and transportation law by modes.
  2. Agreement between the contracting parties, contract of carriage, contract between the carrier and the consignee.
  3. Rights and liabilities of the contracting parties from the contract of carriage.
  4. Transport insurance, types of transport insurance, transport insurance services, agencies, elements of the transport insurance contract.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Practical instruction is followed by a lecture program. 1. Filling in transport contracts, agreements, value papers, and documents.
