Requirements:
Goal:
Acquisition of knowledge about antennas, radiation, and propagation of radio waves, radio systems on railways, transmission systems using fiber optics.
Outcome:
With the acquired knowledge, the student understands the operation of radio systems and has a good basis to upgrade the knowledge to work with specific radio systems and transmission systems using waveguides.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Propagation of radio waves through a homogeneous medium
- Interaction of radio waves with matrix
- Rejection and refraction of the radio waves
- Absorption, dispersion, diffraction of radio waves
- Frequency ranges and mode of radio waves propagation
- Dipole and radiation radio waves
- Antenna radiation diagram
- Fading, types of fading
- UKT systems
- Railway ground train radio system
- Light guiding mechanism
- Fiber optic structures
