Requirements:
Goal: Introducing students to the principles of maintenance and basic concepts related to maintenance railway vehicles. Acquiring knowledge about maintenance regulations, standards and regulations apply to the Serbian railways and the factors that affect the working capacity of railway cars.
Outcome: After completion of this course, students can select and apply adequate procedures for control and diagnostics, evaluate the obtained results and apply them based on appropriate repair (plan and organize). Students are trained to manage railway maintenance vehicles.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. The role and the task of maintaining railway vehicles
  2. Maintenance cycles and inspection frequency
  3. Diagnostics of railway vehicles
  4. Types of maintenance
  5. Maintenance of locomotives, vehicles, passenger cars and freight wagons
  6. Capacities for maintenance of railway vehicles
  7. The organization of railway repair workshops, organization and inventory management of spare parts and materials
  8. Management maintenance
  9. Measures and protections when maintaining railway vehicles
  10. Protection of corrosion
  11. Admission tests after repairs
  12. Standards and regulations for the maintenance of railway vehicles.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Calculation of the number of railway vehicles provided for regular and unplanned repairs and periodic inspections. 2. Organization of the maintenance process. 3. Sizing the capacity for maintenance of railway vehicles. 4. Repair planning, application of Gantt and network diagrams. 5. Information and expert system in the maintenance of railway vehicles.
