Kinematics and dynamics Course code: 117039 | 5 ECTS credits

Basic information
Level of Studies: Undergraduate applied studies
Year of Study: 2
Semester: 3
Requirements:
Goal: Acquisition of necessary knowledge in the field of kinematics and dynamics and connections with other study programs important in the fields of mechanical engineering and civil engineering.
Outcome: Students are trained to solve simpler problems in the field of kinematics and dynamics of structures (stable and moving).
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Basic concepts
  2. Translational motion of a rigid body
  3. Current pole speed
  4. Complex motion of a point - relative, transfer and absolute motion, agreement of velocities, agreement of acceleration, Coriolis theorem.
  5. General laws of point dynamics: the change in the amount of motion, the change in the kinetic energy of a point and the law of the change in the momentum of a point
  6. Equations of point motion along a given fixed curve and determination of the reaction of bonds
  7. System and rigid body dynamics
  8. Laws on the change in the amount of motion of the system, on the change in the momentum of the amount of motion of the system, on the change in the kinetic energy of the system and the rigid body
  9. Field of forces, potential energy
  10. Mechanical energy conservation
  11. Rotational motion of a rigid body, physical pendulum
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Classroom exercises: Solving tasks in accordance with the material in lectures and making independent assignments in the form of homework.
