Requirements:
Goal: Introducing students to basic concepts related to the Internet such as: Internet services and protocols, HTTP protocol, social networks and web2 technologies, the concept of electronic business, structure, and design of the WEB pages, WEB page objects. Enabling students to develop static web applications using HTML language.
Outcome: The student understands the basics of the functioning of the Internet, the principles of work, technologies, and standards that define the Internet. The student is able to independently solve minor problems in the field of Internet technologies, understands and advanced use of internet services, web2 technologies, social networks, and e-business. The student is trained for independent creation - development of static websites (design and coding).
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to the subject.
  2. Internet access: Dial-Up access
  3. Internet protocols (TCP / IP), domains, and URLs.
  4. Internet services: e-mail, conference (news) service, Web service
  5. Internet telephony (NetMeeting, Skype), Viop.
  6. Social networks: definition, types, analysis of social networks, software for social networks.
  7. WEB2 technologies (interactive web: Ajax and APIs; P2P, SOA, RSS, REST, JSON).
  8. Basics of electronic business, concepts, terms, advantages; e-banking, e-commerce, e-marketing, e-government, e-learning; Internet technologies for e-business.
  9. HTML computer language for hypertext links
  10. HTML basics
  11. HTML sections, fonts, images, lists and frames of HTML documents.
  12. HTML tables
  13. Example - analysis of internet application development.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Analysis and use of: Internet services, Social networks, Electronic business. 2. HTML: language basics - elements and attributes, creating static pages, creating a site map, defining graphic elements, list images and frames, tables. 3. HTML page design, the basic structure, and basic elements. Work with lists, tables, objects. Links, addressing, forms. Animation, sound, and video. 4. Image processing software: Introduction to the working environment, selection, work with layers and masks, image transformation, image quality improvement, filter application, image restoration.
