Requirements:
Goal: Acquisition of necessary knowledge and training of students for further successful monitoring and adoption of knowledge from other professional subjects as well as detailed acquaintance with the practical application of electronic components.
Outcome: The student understood and knows the work of basic electronic elements and assemblies. He mastered the techniques for the analysis and synthesis of analog electronics circuits. It is capable of operating and maintaining existing electronic circuits. He has adopted and applies the principles for the analysis of the functioning and determination of the parameters of electronic circuits.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Semiconductors, diodes, static and dynamic characteristics of diodes
  2. Bipolar transistors, static and dynamic characteristics of transistors
  3. Equivalent schemes for small signals
  4. Amplifier with common emitter (CE), common collector (CC), common base (CB)
  5. FET and MOSFET transistors, static and dynamic characteristics
  6. Amplifiers with a common source, gate, and drain
  7. Amplitude and phase characteristics, distortions
  8. Differential amplifiers, current source
  9. Limiters - voltage limiters, comparators, Schmidt comparator
  10. Elements of power electronics devices: resistors, capacitors, magnetic elements, diodes, transistors, thyristors, diacs, triacs, IBGT transistors
  11. Reliability of energy semiconductor elements and energy converters.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Working with software packages for analyzing the operation of electronic circuits. 2. Simulation of diode operation, circuits with transistors, and complex electronic circuits and amplifiers. 3. Functional analysis and determination of parameters of complex electronic circuits, frequency and phase characteristics, unidirectional operating conditions of components, and other characteristic parameters of electronic circuits.
