Woven and Nonwoven Fabric Technology Course code: TTN 113025 | 7 ECTS credits

Basic information
Level of Studies: Undergraduate applied studies
Year of Study: 2
Semester: 3
Requirements: Knowledge of textile raw materials; structure and characteristics of textile materials (yarns); basics of physics and mathematics.
Goal: Introducing the students to the basics of weaving technology and nonwoven textile technology, the types of woven and nonwoven structures, their structural parameters (speaking in terms of construction and technology both) and characteristics. Introducing the students to the basics of woven and nonwoven fabric design.
Outcome: Upon passing the exam, the students will be able to: determine the construction and technology parameters of woven and nonwoven fabric according to a provided sample for each; explain the basic functional elements of weaving looms and machines for the production of nonwovens; calculate the necessary amount of yarn for the production of fabric of a given size; make weave plans for basic weave types and their derivatives; perform fabric decomposition.
