Requirements:
Goal: To gain knowledge about international and national regulations related to the transport of goods in general as well as dangerous goods. Types of goods transported, physical, technological, chemical properties of goods, as well as possible changes in goods in the transport process. Types of means of transport by which certain types of goods are transported, as well as markings on means of transport and goods.
Outcome: Students will be able to participate in the optimization of the transport process in the part related to the selection of the type of goods and appropriate means of transport. Acts preventively on all participants in the transport process and the environment using the acquired knowledge related to the transport of dangerous goods depending on the type and degree of danger of dangerous goods which is transported.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. International and national legislation related to the transport of goods
  2. Quality of service in the transport system goods
  3. Quality and control of goods in transport
  4. Standards and standardization
  5. Concept and classification of goods.
  6. Physical, technological, chemical, and other properties of goods
  7. Packaging and packaging of goods
  8. Distinctive marks on goods
  9. Classification and characteristics of dangerous goods in transport
  10. Palletizing, containerization, and combined systems of transport of goods
  11. Transport of perishable goods
  12. Transport of live animals.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. 1. Legislation and standardization in the transport of goods.
2. Characteristics of dangerous goods (each class especially). 
3. Markings on goods and means of transport. 
4. Properties of bulk materials and pieces.
5. Consolidation of goods.
