Requirements:
Basic knowledge of electricity, electrical installations, renewable energy sources, new power technologies and real-time control systems enable successful lecture tracking.
Goal:
Acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in special electrical installations.
Outcome:
Students will be trained in the basics for designing special electrical installations.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Electrical installations of power supply and communication in distributed control and monitoring systems based on the application of programmable logic controllers.
- Select the cables for connecting sensors and signals with appropriate modules that can be applied in the industrial or public sector.
- Connecting command enclosures, joysticks, operator panels and other peripheral devices, to the control system.
- Calculation of dissipation in electrical cabinets and design air conditioning equipment in electrical installations.
- Electrical installations of telecommunication facilities.
- Networking components of electrical installations using the IoT (Internet of Things) concept.
- Short-circuit calculation in distribution networks with distributed electric power sources.
- Energy efficiency in electrical installations.
- Selection of protective equipment and cables in electrical installations with power converters.
- Selection and calculation of cables in mobile electrical installations (cranes, lifts).
- Selection and calculation of components for wireless transmission of energy at small distances.
- Solid-state power and protective components (contactors - SSC, relays - SSR).
- Protection against arc fault and electrical sparking in electrical installations.
- Calculation of reliability in electrical installation of power supplies and communications.
- Electromagnetic compatibility in electrical installations.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Practical classes are fully followed by a lecture program.
- Using software simulation tools.
