Goal:
Introduction to methods and techniques for designing electronic devices and systems.
Outcome:
Students will be able to independently design electronic devices and participate in the design and implementation of electronic systems.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Introduction. Basic steps in electronic devices development.
- Defining functional requirements in electronic devices design. Development cycle.
- Basic steps in printed circuit boards design. Input, intermediate and final production control.
- Basic components of electronic systems. Linear circuits.
- Selection of electronic components. Typical applications of passive componentsin in electronic devices.
- Active components and typical applications in electronic circuits.
- Power supplies design for analog and digital circuits. Sources of noise and suppression methods. Galvanic isolation and voltage barrier.
- Basic electronic devices for analog signal processing. Analysis and applications of electronic circuits with linear amplifiers.
- Analysis and applications of non-linear circuits.
- Design and applications of U/f and f/U converters.
- Design and applications of A/D and D/A converters.
- Basic electronic devices for digital signal processing. Combinational and synchronous logical networks.
- Microcontrollers and digital signal processors.
- Design and implementation of digital signal processing devices in programmable logic circuits.
- Recapitulation of knowledge and final considerations.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Practical training program follows the lectures.
