Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to the motor vehicles. Basic concepts of the motor vehicles. Structure and composition of the motor vehicle
  2. History of the automobile
  3. Working parameters and operating properties of the motor vehicles
  4. Mechanical and hydrodynamic power transmissions and torque. Transmission types: Manual transmission, Automatic manual transmission (Dual-clutch transmission (DCT), Automatic transmissions (AT), Continuously variable transmission (CVT), Toroidal transmission
  5. Electronic transmission control. Control of automated shift transmission (AST). Control of automatic transmissions. Control of continuously variable transmission. Modules for transmission control. Position sensor for transmission control. Electrohydraulic actuators for transmission control
  6. Vehicle chassis system. Vehicle elastic suspension system. Vehicle wheels
  7. Vehicle steering system. Purpose. Design (Mechanical system, hydraulic system). Active steering system. Benefits of active steering for the driver
  8. Vehicle braking system. History of the brake. Conventional braking system. Classification of vehicle braking system. Components of a vehicle braking system. Brake-circuit configuration. Components for braking-force distribution. Drum brakes. Disk brakes
  9. Antilock braking system (ABS). Electronic stability program (ESP). Traction control system (TCS). Sensotronic brake control (SBC)
  10. Automatic brake functions. Electronic Braking-force Distribution (EBD). Standard function. Additional functions
  11. Vehicle electrical systems. Design of the vehicle electrical system. Components in the vehicle electrical system
  12. Maintenance of engines and vehicles. Preventive and corrective maintenance
  13. Diagnostics and self-diagnostics
  14. Information system maintenance and maintenance response (quality of work and spare parts)
