Requirements:
Goal: This module is designed to study operation principles and construction elements (technical assets in automatics) in automatic control system.
Outcome: The outcome is acquiring skills on types and structure of automatic control system, technical conditions for system and its elements operation, implementation and design principles automatic control system.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Principles of automatic control and algorithms.
  2. Hierarchical and distributed control concept, simple regulatory circuit, fundamental law of managment.
  3. Elements and system typology.
  4. Principles of automation systems construction elements.
  5. Classification of elements, static and dynamic properties.
  6. Standard signals in the management systems, transmission of signals in the control circuit, standard interfaces.
  7. Elements of functional role in regulatory circuit.
  8. Transducers: principles of construction, properties, sensors of typical process parameters.
  9. Sensors in robotics and automated manufacturing.
  10. Regulators: linear regulators (pneumatic, electronic and microprocessor PID regulators); nonlinear (relay) regulators; quasi-linear regulators.
  11. Executing system: properties, typical representatives.
  12. Auxiliary elements in automatic control systems. Special elements. Technicaly created system.
  13. Hydraulic elements.
  14. Pneumatic elements.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. In laboratory exercises, students independently and with the help of teachers experimentally determine the characteristics (static and dynamic) of specific elements and perform analysis of the behavior of the laboratory models of the system.
