Requirements:
Knowledge of basic concepts in electrical engineering and mathematics.
Goal:
Introduce students to the design and execution of electrical installations and electrical lighting.
Outcome:
Students will be trained in the designing and execution of electrical installations and lighting.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Introductory lecture (the organization and content of the course). Technical regulations for the execution of the electrical installations. Electrical installation project. Standards. Technical recommendations.
- Definition and classification of the electrical installations (EI), EI of the high and low voltage. Levels of voltage. Safety systems of the power supply.
- The receivers of electricity. Reactive power compensation.
- Basic components of the high voltage system EI. Conductors. Permanently permitted current.
- Cables. The installation and cable accessories.
- Switches, fuses and other protective components.
- Protection of electrical installations against overload and short circuit. Selectivity of protection. Differential current protection device.
- Protection against direct and indirect contact, electric shock. TN, TT, IT systems.
- Design and execution of the connection of the building. Electrical meters. Distribution cabinets.
- Grounding systems. Parts of the grounding, protecting, working, lightning-conductor and join grounding. Types of groundings.
- Lighting protection systems. Elements of installation, levels of protection, protected areas. Project of the lighting-conductor’s installation.
- Electrical Installation to buildings and structures which includes wiring systems, cable calculations and security systems.
- Electrical lighting, quantities and units. Electrical sources of light. Light fixture.
- Indoor lighting. Internal illumination quality factors.Calculation of the rooms’ lighting.
- Computer design of the electrical installations.
