Goal:
Acquiring the necessary knowledge for monitoring professional subjects in the field of electrical engineering, expanding mathematical education, developing creative thinking and creating a basis for understanding quality relationships among phenomena.
Outcome:
Students will be able to solve complex mathematical problems and be able to apply them in the electrotechnical profession.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- Concept and properties of partial derivatives of functions of several variables.
- Local extreme of functions of several variables.
- Conditional extreme of functions of several variables.
- The smallest and highest value of the function of several variables.
- Differential equations of the first order: homogeneous, linear, Bernoulli.
- Differential equations of the second order.
- First colloquium.
- Laplace transformation.
- Number series: basic properties and convergence.
- Convergence criteria for positive series.
- Alternative series. Power series and applications.
- Fourier series and applications.
- Second colloquium.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Practical classes follow the program of lectures and take place through exercises in the computer laboratory, using the software packages Matlab and Maple.
