Knowledge of basic concepts of electrical engineering and mathematics which can enable students to follow the course successfully.

To introduce students to basic concepts of environmental protection.
Outcome:
Students will be able to apply basic knowledge of environmental protection.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- The environment – term, factors (water, air, soil).
- The condition of the environment and identifying problems.
- Endangering the environment. The sources of pollution.
- Cadastre of polluters, sources of pollution and polluting substances of the environment.
- The consequences of air, water, soil and food pollution.
- Measures and activities used in the environmental protection. The preventive measures.
- Transport and dispersion of pollutants.
- Controlling the accidents. Risk estimation.
- Monitoring of the environment. The principles and techniques of collecting samples.
- Environmental management. Human-enviroment interaction.
- Environmental protection system.
- The international and national legal framework and cooperation in the area of environmental protection.
- Environmental protection and energetics - pollution sources, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources.
- Enriching the environment.
- Colloquium.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
