Goal:
The goal is to acquire communicative competence in English for professional purposes on an elementary level, above all, in reading and writing texts related to the textile industry, fulfilling the basic needs of efficient communication within one's profession; also, to acquire oral competences and listening abilities as needed for this particular study program.
Outcome:
Upon passing the exam, the students will be able to: read, write, speak and listen on an elementary level of English in their chosen field.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
- The basics of functional grammar and vocabulary in English for professional purposes (Textile Design and Engineering), in three specific fields (Education, Profession, Discipline).
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
- Translation excercises, grammar and vocabulary practice, discussions, answering questions.
